MMAG Outreach activities have included promoting various worthy causes, such as demonstrating art techniques at the East Lansing Art Festival and coordinating art donations to adorn the walls of the Allen Community Health Center.

MMAG’s ongoing, year-a-around program is “Bring Smiles to Seniors.” Here’s how it works.

Members donate handmade or store-bought greeting cards to “Bring Smiles to Seniors”–an all-volunteer, non-profit that delivers cards to Michigan Seniors in nursing homes, assisted and independent living facilities, as well as those Seniors who are home-bound. Outreach Chair Susan Smith collects donated cards from MMAG members, which are then distributed to nursing homes and other facilities. Facility staff distribute cards as needed, loneliness being one of the criteria. The program accepts and delivers cards throughout the year.  Religious cards and cards with glitter are not accepted.
