Lanet Sawyer has pursued a diversity of artistic expression and mediums since 2007, and has studied under several well-known Michigan artists. Working primarily in watercolor, she has recently also been exploring the pastel medium and finds its forgiving qualities both comforting and exciting.
Strongly moved by and drawn to dynamic color, Lanet enjoys exploring various experimental techniques. Her goal is to continue enhancing her understanding of the artistic process and developing further expertise.
She is an active member of three art guilds in the Lansing area—Mason Area Art Guild, Mid-Michigan Art Guild, and the Seven Islands Art Guild, a Grand Ledge weekly painting group that she took a leadership role in helping to establish.
Lanet is a frequent exhibitor and her work has been shown and sold at Absolute and MICA galleries in Old Town, Ledge Craft Lane in Grand Ledge, and in art shows throughout the greater Lansing area.
Lanet resides with her husband, Denny, and two Miniature Pinschers in Grand Ledge, Michigan.
